Snorkling in January in Mexico.

My wife and I and sailing on the Legends on Jan. 9 from San Diego to Ft. Lauderdale. We had hoped to do some snorkling. But the more I read these posts I get the feeling we should find other activities until we get to Aruba. What would the what temp be at Cabo San Lucas, Acapulco or Huatulco in the middle of January? I also understand the water clarity would be an issue as well.

Thanks,

You are right. Snorkeling is nothing to write home about along the Pacific side of Mexico. Cabo is quite cool. We wear 3mm wetsuit jacket there, and are glad we have them. We've been there when it's crystal clear and when we couldn't see a thing. It depends on the swell. Down south should be warmer. I haven't snorkeled in Acapulco, didn't even know you could snorkel there. Wait till you get to Carribean, though I haven't been impressed there either.
