jetskier Posted January 25, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Does the Fascination do anything special for past guests on a five day cruise? On a 5-night or longer cruise you will have a past guest party. Basically free drinks for 45 minutes. You will have an invitation left in your cabin along with the ship's pin. Debster2Cruz Posted January 25, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Free drinks, free appetizers for past guests. Oh, love that pin they give you too. I bought a Carnival jacket and have all my pins on there.
Ellusionz Posted January 25, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 25, 2009 I went on a Carnival cruise a long time ago, over ten years, when I was younger with my parents... would they allow me into the past guest party? And can you bring your cabin mate if they never been on a cruise before?
Ken076 Posted January 25, 2009 #5 Share Posted January 25, 2009 You will have to Call them with info like your Cruise Date, Ship, Booking number or be able to give some evidence that you cruised, to get a Past Guest number assigned, prior to your next cruise. then you would have an invitation left in your cabin the day before. Normally a non-past-cruiser guest isn't invited, altho generally a spouse is allowed. ken
kwajgirl Posted January 25, 2009 Author #6 Share Posted January 25, 2009 When does this cocktail party usually take place? The first or second night? Another silly question ...... How do I make sure they know I am a past guest. My travel agent knows, but will she notifiy Carnival?

When your information is entered into the system, it will show you as a past guest (PG) automatically. But if you have any doubt, have your TA obtain your past guest number from Carnival just to be sure. If you have a PG number, then they have you in the system as a PG. Cotton Posted January 25, 2009 #8 Share Posted January 25, 2009 When does this cocktail party usually take place? The first or second night? No specific night...definitely not the first nor second. The Captain's welcome party is the second night on board. The cruise director decides when and where for the PG party - after he/she knows how many past guests are on board. How do I make sure they know I am a past guest. My travel agent knows, but will she notifiy Carnival? She should have listed you as a PG. Enjoy the party!:)

You must be in Carnival's cruise history for your cruise to count. Better check w/your booking agent and prove that you were on a cruise. And can you bring your cabin mate if they never been on a cruise before? No. This is a party to 'welcome back' past passengers; sorry. BTW, the past guest parties are held only on cruises of five nights or longer.

Yeah, I figured that out the hard way :o My first cruise was on Conquest, so we did the Ecstasy about five months later. The Ecstasy has either a 4 or 5 day itin. We chose the 4...dont know why. Anyway, we were so looking forward to the PG party and getting a pin...until we learned that we should have booked the 5 day cruise for that little perk :( Ah well...my goal is to somehow get an Ecstasy and Conquest pin since I have been on those ships...guess Ill just have to book another cruise on those fine vessels :D
kimmimom Posted January 25, 2009 #11 Share Posted January 25, 2009 5 day to Nassau/Key West. The past guest party was on our Key West Day. Problem is they had it at 7:15. We had dinner at 6, so by the time we finished and made our way to the other end of the ship, it was finishing up and we got no free drinks! kimmimom Posted January 25, 2009 #13 Share Posted January 25, 2009 Actually my daughter needed a heating pad during our trip and we went to the infirmary who gave us one to use ($40 deposit that was returned when we returned it to the infirmary). Well, I guess they make an exception due to 'illness'. They've always had that in their FAQ..."NO irons, heating pads, or candles........." The couple that we are traveling with wants the early seating... Not our preference, but not a deal breaker. I hope it doesn't interfere. It will be hard to have to choose between free drinks or food. lol

I say NO since he does not qualify as a Past Guests. Some will tell you that it is OK, but, Past Guest means Past Guest. This is been subject to many threads here. cruizer7 Posted January 26, 2009 #22 Share Posted January 26, 2009 you will know right away if carnival knows you are a past quest when you get your S & S card. It will be gold not blue like first time sailers.
Cotton Posted January 26, 2009 #23 Share Posted January 26, 2009 Oh I was afraid of that! It will be hard to have to choose between free drinks or food. lol It varies with each cruise. The CD changes days, times, places for the PG party. I've been to one party at 5PM. Someone said they'd been to one at 2PM! MOST are held in the evenings, however. You really won't know until you receive your invitation.
dbogusch Posted January 28, 2009 #24 Share Posted January 28, 2009 So I am sailing with my fiancee. I have sailed Carnival before but he hasn't. Am I to understand that I can go the party ALONE but not with my fiancee? I'm not trying to start an issue I'm just trying to find out for sure. I don't want to go to a party alone.... Cotton Posted January 28, 2009 #25 Share Posted January 28, 2009 You can opt to skip the party, or he could spend that few minutes in the casino or somewhere else. It's just that, when they start allowing NON past guests in, the real past cruisers don't enjoy the party so much due to overcrowding. Just think - You can plan another cruise together, and both will be invited, if it's a five night or longer cruise.:)
