Hotels near the Venice Airport

We will be disembarking from the Nautica in Venice on October 17th and will need a hotel for one night near the airport. Does anyone know if there are really nice hotels near there? Thank you.

Try Laguna Palace in Mestre. We stayed there a couple of years ago and were very happy. Good restaurant on the property too.

WHY???

Do you have a very early morning flight out? Otherwise, I cannot think of a reason for staying there. If my flight was even moderate morning hours, I would stay near the Piazzale Roma (Try the Sofitel, Carlton or Capri) . You could grab a bus or taxi from Piazzale Roma in the morning and get to the Airport fairly quickly...

 

But it would allow you to take the P. Roma shuttle from the pier, check in and then spend a nice day and evening in Venice--with time still to do quite a bit...Lots of nice restaurants and the ambiance of Venice at night...Then breakfast and to the airport for the flight home.

 

If you stay in Mestre, you're going to have to schlepp your luggage there, check in and either just hang out there or get transportation back in to Venice, then back to Mestre at night...

 

Your choice, I guess...

I would also just stay in Venice and enjoy the evening there.;)

I have been to Venice several times and stayed at the Londra Palace which I loved. But I have an early mornimg flight out of Venice and thought that if I stayed by the airport or within driving distance of the airport, it would be easier to get to the airport. I could always take a water taxi into the heart of Venice during the day I'll be there.

There is a Courtyard (Marriott) near the airport and near a bus station that takes you to town. Very handy. It drops you off near the water shuttle station. I believe there is a free Courtyard bus to airport.
