Snorkelling on your own at Stone Island

On our up and coming Mexican Riviera cruise we want to do the San Sebastian Colonial tour at Puerto Vallarta,

But would like to try snorkelling from the beach on our own from Mazaltan and Cabos San Lucas

Can you snorkel from the beach on Stone Island and is it easy enough to get to Lover's Beach Cabos San lucas on our own.

At Cabos san Lucas time is shorter and its a tender Port?

I have looked at Ship tour Snorkel trips but I am a big person and find getting in and out of some boats difficult -

and I like snorkelling from vessels with a platform- these don't seem to operate in these areas so snorkelling from the beach will probably be our best option,

Will we see fish if we snorkel from Stone Island or should we just leave our gear at home?
