I didn't save a post that I wish I would have. does anyone remeber )or know how I can find) the post that had a link to a website on jewerly. The wesite was supposed to have good info on what to look for and how to find quality jewerly . I'm ready to buy but don't want to get ripped off in a foreign country. Thanks. Janine

Buy your jewelry back home from a reputable firm. All of this stuff that they tell you on a cruise about duty free and tax free is a lot of nonsense. There have been many threads about people who purchased jewelry while on a cruise because they thought it was a bargain only to find out they were overcharged when they got their purchase appraised back home. Many of the stores prey on tourists that know little about jewelry and are only in port for a few hours.

You're welcome! Hubby bought me a beautiful diamond ring in St Maarten for my 50th birthday. Had it appraised when we got home and it was worth about $200 more than he paid.

Hope to shop for more jewelry when we sail on the Century next January.
