Mskerri22 Posted January 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2009 what can the onboard credit be used for?
agentgirl Posted January 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 27, 2009 It is a credit on your shipboard account- it can be used for souvenirs from the shops, specialty dining, photos, etc.

noblepa Posted January 28, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Drink packages too??? I don't see why not. We've never sailed MSC, yet (April 11), but usually an OBC is just that; a credit to your onboard account and offsets anything you charge to it. Occasionally, depending on the source of the credit, I've heard of specific OBC's that can not be used toward the auto-tips or are not refundable, in the unlikely event that you spend less than the credit. Others have reported (on other lines) that, even when such restrictions are stated, in practice, they are not observed. So, if you spend $500 on board and have a $200 credit, your net cost will be $300. Paul

Paul I read somewhere on this board that some people go to the casino and buy chips or coins and then later turn them back in and get the cash. Should work! slhull54 Posted January 29, 2009 #6 Share Posted January 29, 2009 since you can get cash by charging to your own board account, there shouldn't be a problem in obtaining cash at cage in casino and spending it on or off the ship. Several people received theirs as a reimbursement on their cc.There is an ad on tv about how its your money, "spend it the way you want". This should hold true, in fact if you dont spend it all or any of it, you should receive a cash reimbursement upon checkout..
