Husker Cruzer Posted January 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2009 Plan on being in New Orleans during spring break. Our kids are 23, 21 and 20. Can the 20 yr old be in any of the bars or clubs with us? We like to go to the piano, karaoke or maybe some jazz bars but would like her to be able to be with us all. Any suggestions would be great. Plan on staying in French Quarters.

Plan on staying in French Quarters. Most places will allow a 20 year-old in but they can't drink. ;) Some bars have a clearly-stated NO MINORS ALLOWED sign but still allow most anyone in especially during the day. My suggestions..... Pat O'brien's has a great dueling piano bar (St. Peter street entrance) The Cat's Meow is the best for Karaoke and 3-for-1 drinks. The Krazy Korner has good music of all types and has a great balcony. The club directly across the street from Krazy Korner has old-time jazz. The Old Opera House has good music when The Bonoffs are playing (I'm biased):D The Tropicle Isle Beach Club has great Cajun/Zydeco music (they also serve some fairly decent food at reasonable rates) All of the above are in the 600-700 blocks of Bourbon Street. jgmpuma Posted January 28, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 28, 2009 Some bars/clubs don't admit minors because they have video poker machines. You can find complete music listings at http://www.offbeat.com
Rare mexicobob Posted February 1, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 1, 2009 Many/most bars in The French Quarter will not allow any one under 21 to enter. They check ID's at the door. Sure you can get in some though. MexicoBob
nolaAlive Posted February 2, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2009 I think most kinds know how/where to obtain fake ID's these days.
