lnm Posted January 27, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 27, 2009 I noticed that our itinerary is a little bit different than most others. Instead of Maui, Hilo, then Kona, our first stop is Hilo, then Maui, then Kona. It shows the path of the ship going back up to Maui after Hilo and then down to Kona. The path shows that the ship never goes all the way around the Big Island. Does that mean that our itinerary will not go past the lava flow into the ocean? Any ideas on why they do this? Wineshipper Posted January 28, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 28, 2009 We went on this same itinerary last April. The POA did go down to the lava flow at night. What a wonderful experience. Hope you enjoy as much as we did.

Rare ohioNCLcruiser Posted January 29, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 29, 2009 THANKS!I was worried when I saw that the ship wasn't going all the way around the island. Any idea why that make that change? Lots of ships are doing their repos to Alaska that time through Hawaii. Just port scheduling.
