m00k3y Posted November 17, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 17, 2004 My wife came up with a great idea. My son (2) will be going on his first vacation/cruise. We have been talking a lot about it to get him a little prepared for what will be happening. Well, he just loves Dora the Explorer. So my wife created a "map" of our trip for him. I printed out pictures of the van that will be taking us to the airport. the plane we will fly on, the limo that will take us to the hotel, the hotel and our cruise ship. We laid them out on some old computer paper (the kind that is connected to each other) and then used markers and crayons to add in our house, dotted lines for the path, a bed with our son sleeping in it at the hotel, etc. He absolutely loves it. He asks to see it several times a day. Last night we went to dinner at my parents house and he was reciting to them everything we are going to be doing to get to our vacation. :) Plus, what a great item to add to his scrap book. Just thought I would pass this along, I am sure someone else out there will put this idea to great use. :D
julierika Posted November 17, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 17, 2004 What smart parents you are. Preparation eases anxieties in a child, which in turn helps with better behavior, which allows EVERYONE to have a great cruise! Good for you!

katondeck Posted November 19, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 19, 2004 What a wonderful idea - I can not wait until my DD (7 months) is old enough for me to use it. Thank you for sharing!
