I can't comment on Millie specifically, but I have boarded Radiance at the same place and boarded around 11am. The process was painless as the place was deserted. The trickle starts when the train arrives from ANC between 11 - 1130 and then the pace increases from there.

How late did the Radiance leave. I think Mille leaves at 9PM.

I would definately highly recommend the Kenai Fjords boat tours over any early embarkment. :) In Alaska I am never in any rush to get on the ships, and have gotten on in the evening most trips. There are so many wonderful activites to enjoy, if of interest in both Seward and Whittier.

We left at 9pm too; I just can't recall what time muster drill was.

 

As BQ states, there's plenty of time to do the KF tour before you sail.
