Scubagolf Posted January 31, 2009 #1 Share Posted January 31, 2009 We arrive into San Juan, PR airport on 2/14 at 10 a.m. and Celebrity ship says boarding is at 2pm for departure at night on 2/14. Where can we store baggage (5 large checked bags for 3 people + hand luggage) so we can tourist around for a while?
margincall Posted January 31, 2009 #2 Share Posted January 31, 2009 Just to let you know we sailed the summit on Jan 10 and we were at the pier at about 1120 am and the gates opened to let us in at 1130 am and we were on board by noon. So while they may say 2 pm if you wanted to go on board earlier you can.Otherwise you can check your baggage with the porters there at the pier and get a cab to tour the town if you want Enjoy your cruise
Sheffie Posted January 31, 2009 #3 Share Posted January 31, 2009 I completely agree w/ Margincall. By the time you get your bags and grab a taxi, you should be able to check onto the ship. Do this, grab a bite to eat, and then grab a taxi over to Old San Juan. Have them drop you off at El Morro, and then wander your way back down to the piers. These aren't the piers you are docked at, but you can catch a cab there back to the International Pier. We are a sailing a few weeks after you, and have been to San Juan many times. We love it! Enjoy your visit there, and let us know how your cruise went. Enjoy!!!
beyoung Posted January 31, 2009 #4 Share Posted January 31, 2009 we are on the same sailing, our plan is to head to the pier in the morning (we are flying in the night before) drop our bags and explore OSJ.
mikepmcm Posted February 1, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 1, 2009 You can check your bags with the porters and instead of checking in to the ship you can explore Old San Juan and check-in later. Here's a picture of the Summit pulling out of Barbados with the HSV-2 Swift a non-commissioned, hybrid catamaran leased by the United States Navy as a mine countermeasures platform.
