RosinaO,

We're on the Nautica cruise right before yours (6/5 thru 6/17, Athens to Rome).

The daytime dress on Oceania is similar to what you would wear to a nice daytime party. Not dressy, but well groomed and neat.

As you will be in Europe during its' Summer season, you'll probably be wearing shorts or light cotton slacks with short sleeved shirts. Sleeveless shirts are seldom worn by men on Oceania, although some ladies do.

Be aware that many European landmarks are still active houses of worship, and shorts that end above the knee may be seen as disrespectful attire.

We would avoid sandal type footwear, unless a health issue is involved. Day-tripping in Europe requires a lot of walking on VERY uneven surfaces. Although sandals might seem cooler and lighter, they dont provide enough support and are sure to cause blisters. Better safe than sorry! Don't forget that you'll be walking for another 6 hours, tomorrow!

Athletic shoes are fine for day, go with leather in the evening.

For touring off of the ship, you are much better off (both quality and cost wise) to book your own guides and transportation.

This is what Oceania says about Electrical outlets:

Electrical Outlets

There are several electrical outlets located in each stateroom and suite bathroom. Available current is both 110v and 220v. You may use personal appliances from the U.S. without the need for electrical converters or transformers. Due to safety reasons, cooking equipment and irons may not be used in your stateroom. Irons are available in the self-service laundry facility.

I see that you also posted on the roll call board, however, there was already an active Roll Call for your cruise:

Hope this helped.....by the way, we promist to keep Nautica nice for you!

Have a great cruise-

You can bring whatever alchohol you like aboard, for personal consumption, that is. You are asked not to consume private alchohol in the ships public areas.

If you bring wine into the dining room, you will probably be charged a corkage fee of $20 US.

I would be extremely leery about doing tours via taxi with 8 people as you will undoubtedly need at least three taxis (unless you have very small people in your group). And that would be hard to coordinate.

European Taxis tend to be smaller cars than in Australia or the United States, and, in some countries they prefer that a passenger not sit next to the driver.

In any case, with 8 people, you'll be able to arrange for a van with tour guide and driver, and still save money over the ships tours.

Have a grand trip!
