A bit concerned about our kid on next cruise. Please help

Children will do exactly what you expect of them. If you expect them to act up during dinner, they will. My son was on a plane at 13 weeks. We went to WDW when he was 2 1/2 (and potty training)...has been going to the theater since he was 7 and cruising since age 10.

He is now 15, and has better manners and is more mature than some adults I know.

If you talk to the head waiter soon after embarkation I'm sure they can find a table in a location that will work for you.

I think you can have it all in life, spiritofscouse. Enjoy your cruise!

Man- All you people out there who seem to complain about children on a cruise - whether it be in the dining room or pool or at the shows. Just remember...you were once a child. Second....these families have paid FULL price for their children as well and are entitled to bring them wherever and whenever they want. If you don't like kids book an adults only cruise.

I say if you want late seating for your family go for it. After all...there are plenty of loudmouths in the dining room, shows, pools, etc. that are not children!!!!

And don't feel guilty. Have a WONDERFUL WONDERFUL TRIP!!!!

spiritofscouse - We did take our dd in her stroller into the shows. We sat in the back row of the section that's kind of on the corner - It wasn't a very crowded section at all. Also, the seats were lined up so that she was next to me & there was a seat in front of her. She wasn't in anybody's way at all.

We also had it in the dining room, but had it stored under the stairwell - the waiter put it there (our table was the one right there next to the stairwell, so it was near us). We didn't take it the first 2 nights, but saw a lot of people that did. It makes sense to have it with you since most of the time you're leaving & going right to a show or something else going on - not always time to get back to your room.

We have been cruising with our daughter since she was four. While we have always had early seating, our daughter is rarely there. She has always LOVED the Adventure Ocean program.
What may realistically happen is you getting her dinner a bit earlier from Windjammer/Room Service, etc, then letting her go off to the evening Adventure Ocean activities while you are left to enjoy your late seating dinner for two.
I have nothing against kids eating in the dining room, just wanted to give you my two cents on what I think you and your daughter will all probably want. We didn't think our daughter would want to spend all the time she did in the kids program. By the way, they usually have a quiet area/room in the evenings where tired kids can lay down and rest if they want while in the kids area.
On another note, they usually have a night or two where the kids can eat with each other and the counselors. You just have to sign up the day before.
Enjoy your trip! I know ALL of you will.
