Colts88 Posted February 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Helen, I thought you may be back and wanted to find out how the cruise went. We are in that same room in March. Any details are much appreciated. I hope everything went well.
helen haywood Posted February 9, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 9, 2009 Sorry....been so busy trying to plan my next cruise that I forgot about replying to you and telling you about the Destiny cruise!!:p I absolutely LOVED the aft cabin. It was not my first balcony but was my first aft and I think that's the way I'll cruise from now on! We loved sitting on the balcony at night and watching the stars and hearing the wake. There were a few things about the cabin configuration that I don't know if they are particular to Destiny or to all Carnival aft cabins.... For example, there were no bedside tables as balconies usually have. The desk area had drawers down one side but no drawer directly underneath the mirror. The shower area was larger....instead of the little circle shower I'm used to, the shower area was a large rectangle taking up one side of the bathroom. I must say you certainly DID feel the ship's movement from this cabin. I have no problem with that...I love the feeling of being rocked to sleep....but be aware if you are a person who wants to feel like you are in a hotel on Terra Firma....this cabin may not be for you! I had worried about noise from the Buffet located above but since the cabin is all the way at the back you do not hear the trolley carts at 3 am as I have when I was in a balcony further towards midship. Anything else you'd like to know about ports or food or anything? Our room steward could not have been nicer!!!

helen haywood Posted February 10, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2009 Sorry, no pictures of the cabin. I've got lots of pictures of the beautiful sunsets from the balcony.... I'm sorry; I'm not a picture taking person. Just never seem to look at them after the trip.... But I can answer any questions.
