Parsman Posted February 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Press reports indicate that the "Balmoral" has been struck yet again with an outbreak of Norvirus. At one time it was stated that more than 200 people were ill but as at yesterday the number had fallen to around 50. The worst part was that the ship was refused entry to some ports because of this outbreak and is returning to the Canaries. Hopefully they can eliminate this bug before the ship's world cruise which departs on 14 February.

What a shame for the current passengers; we found the hygiene standards excellent on board, but it is impossible to monitor everything and everybody. I hope everything is back to normal in time for your segment of the world cruise, and that this is Balmoral's last run of bad luck. Mary:)
dsk663 Posted February 7, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 7, 2009 We are also due on Balmoral opn 14th February. We sincerely hope that they will have time to give the Ship a full check. The only worry is -- can they do a full cleanup etc in a matter of hours.
