maple ridge Posted February 7, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 7, 2009 Travelling on the Wind Surf Mar 15 - 22/09. Any advise on how to get between the airport, Barbados, and the cruise ship terminal, Bridgetown? Taxi ? What would be the expected fare? Should on do the ship's excursions on book on shore? schmidlapp Posted February 8, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Taxi is the best and (only I think) option from the airport. Depending on traffic, its about a half hour ride from the airport. On the return, Windstar sells an overpriced transfer to the airport from the ship. If you have an early flight back, (the ship arrives at 4 am and Barbados customs and immigration are aboard shortly after for the very early flights) they tell you there are no or few taxi's available that early, I kind of doubt it. We always stay on the Island a few days post cruise. this allows us to have one last unhurried breakfast aboard and say our goodbyes to the crew. We had plenty of taxi's available at 8:30 am. Windstar also told us that in Nice (last May) there were no taxi's and we should buy their transfers, Wrong, there were taxis and less than half the cost of the Windstar transfers. schmidlapp Posted February 8, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 8, 2009 Sorry about the second reply, make sure you are clear about the currency quoted for the taxi fare. Prices are posted at the taxi stand at the airport. Price was in Barbados dollars, 2bd to 1us.
