Danno Posted April 7, 2004 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Is it just me or do the H class ships, and the C class ships, seem to have devoted followings while the M class don't...is this because of younger age of these ships? The different demographic? The size? I would think the M calss has a smaller percentage of repeaters...or not. I'm just having a hard time seeing myself on an M class and I don't know why.(might be the ugly paint scheme) Dan Century X1,Galaxy X2,HorizonX5,VolendamX1, Zenith Oct/05 (hoping!!) safein Posted April 7, 2004 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Danno, I'll repeat on any ship as long as it's Celebrity! But you are right! So far,we've either visited or sailed on almost every X ship except the Meridian and the Connie. We'll be on the Infinity next year. Anita And now Infinity 2005! marco Posted April 7, 2004 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2004 I guess it depends on one's personal preference, but the reasons I PREFER the Horizon and the Zenith are the exact reasons a lot of people DON'T like those two ships compared to the others. DocJohnB Posted April 7, 2004 #4 Share Posted April 7, 2004 My favorite would be the Horizon/Zenith class. We have sailed Zenith twice. Mercury once and Millie once. We are sailing Summit in November. I love the Zenith because of its' size. Another ship of about the same size I loved is HAL's Statendam. I just prefer the smaller ships. superjerryw Posted April 7, 2004 #5 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Put me down for the "M" class. I find there are just more things to do on a larger ship. I'm also a fitness fanatic and the larger the ship the larger the gym. The larger the gym the more I work out and the less weight I gain. I thought the Millennium and the Infinty had very nice gyms. I was just on the Galaxy and I found the gym to be lacking. <applet code="countdown.class" CODEBASE="http://*************/java-sys" width="203" height="25"> <param name="font" value="lcdb0"> <param name="year" value=2004> <param name="month" value=03> <param name="day" value=19> <param name="hour" value=17> </applet> Donuts, is there anything they can't do.... Rare TPKeller Posted April 7, 2004 #6 Share Posted April 7, 2004 It wasn't Celebrity, but I did enjoy the larger ship Explorer. So much stuff to do! However, and I'm probably a distinct minority, I have absolutley no plans to book anything on an "M" class ship until they fix those stupid azipods... FOR GOOD! Way too many people's cruises have been ruined unexpectedly by those sorry things. That's just me! LMKohler Posted April 7, 2004 #8 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Hello Danno -- I think we've had this discussion before. I haven't been on Horizon/Zenith yet and asked you about the difference. Put me down on the M Class side for now since I'm taking my 3rd cruise on Summit next year. I think with me though -- it's a matter of destination. When I get around to Bermuda I'll be on Horizon! DocJohnB Posted April 7, 2004 #10 Share Posted April 7, 2004 Just to clarify my response above. I have absolutely no problems with the Millenium class - in fact I loved her. I just prefer the small, more intimate Zenith "FEEL" Until we sail on SUMMIT for 10 nights Until MOAGC's on Explorer of the Seas Seven Cruises last Century, then: Norwegian Sky 2000 GGC2000 Volendam 2001 GGC2001 Paradise 2001 Sensation 2002 GGC2002 Millenium 2003 (Nov 16) Mariner OTS 2004 (Feb 29) Summit 2004 (Nov 05) Explorer OTS 2005 (Jan 09)
garykool81 Posted April 7, 2004 #11 Share Posted April 7, 2004 As I have never sailed on an M-Class ship, I am far from an expert opinion. From friends who have, though, I was under the impression that the M-Class ships have a little less "personality" than their smaller sisters? A little more typical "5-star" hotel design?
