Bluwbaai (Blue Bay)

Hi- We were at Blue Bay in April. We took the Beach Express for $40 as a ship's excursion- the $ included snorkeling gear and lessons if desired. We thought the price was fine for a 3 hour stay and we had a guaranteed ride back to the ship.

We have taken taxis many times in Curacao and would take a private excursion rather than a taxi if we did not take the Beach Express.

Blue Bay Resort is about 8 miles west of Willemstad- it has resort amenities such as rest rooms, a pool, lounge chairs, a beach bar, and a restaurant.

The swimming and snorkeling are good there.

Yo can google Curacao Beach Express or Blue Bay Resort for more info.

Hi- We take taxis on short (round) trips around Curacao and the taxi drivers have waited for us, but for a 3 or 4 hour beach excursion, we want a guarantee of a ride back to the ship in time. The Beach Express bus just stays right at the resort.

Many of Curacao's cove snorkeling beaches are out in the country- away from everything-so we don't want to have to call a taxi for a return trip.

There are some beaches and resorts which are close to Willemstad and have some taxi traffic- we would take a taxi to the Avila Hotel or the Marriott for instance.
