Only two visits to Antarctica in 2009/2010 season

HAL has just canceled the Veendam's 20-day Valparaiso-Rio via Antarctica cruise and substituted a 12-day Valparaiso-Buenos Aires. I wonder if our booked 20-day Antarctic cruise (January 10, 2010) will survive or be canceled due to the current economy. :(

So we are down to two cruises that dip into Antarctica (December 21, 2009 and January 10, 2010).

Our TA talked to HAL today and they moved us from the Jan 30 to Jan 10 sailing. It's earlier than we wanted to go but they held the price on our cat EE and gave us an OBC. The prices on the web are much higher than what we booked in November.

 

We hadn't booked air yet so there is no financial loss to us.
