oceanseagle12 Posted February 12, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2009 I tried open seating on the Liberty and loved it. I realize it is in trial phase right now, and that 4 ships are supposed to be added soon. I was just wondering if there has been any discussion or news about whether the Dream might include the option?
matt690 Posted February 12, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 12, 2009 How did it work? Did you have a different waitstaff every night? Was there a wait? We personally love traditional dining, and want to make sure that everyone had an option of their choice...?
oceanseagle12 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #3 Share Posted February 12, 2009 matt- it works just like a restaurant. dinner between 5:45 and 9:30. if you are assigned to open seating, you go anytime between those hours, give them your room number (or numbers if you are with other cabins), and they seat you. If you have to wait, they will give you a pager. Your wait staff is based on availability, but you can request a server if you want. Next time I do it, thats my plan- If I like my wait staff the first night, I will request them the rest of the week! Best of both worlds that way. oceanseagle12 Posted February 12, 2009 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2009 there's also a pretty lengthy post about the pros and cons of open seating. you should check that out if you want more information/perspectives.
copvet Posted February 12, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 12, 2009 That's a good question hotjavalex. I would like to post that question to someone who might know the answer. If they will have it we will change to open seating. We loved it on the Liberty.
AdrenalineRush Posted February 15, 2009 #6 Share Posted February 15, 2009 I would say there is a 100% chance, since every Carnival ship will start offering open seating at some point this year.
