Manzanillo

We'll be in Manzanillo on Saturday, Feb. 21.

My husband seems to think that we can walk off the ship and find someone to take him (or 3 of us) fishing.

Is anyone familiar with this port or familiar with fishing in this port?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

B. from North Bend, Wa

I have heard that Manzanillo has great fishing. The cruise ship docks at a large ugly ship yard environment. There are cabs allowed on the dock, and we did arrange for a tour with one of them. They can likely set you up with fishing; although it would seem more efficient and inexpensive to contact a reputable charter in advance. Hopefully someone here in the know will help guide you.

My SIL and grandson went fishing in Manzanillo during our Christmas cruise on Carnival Spirit. They looked into booking on their own but decided to take the ship's fishing excursion. They had a really fun day, caught lots of fish, but not a sailfish. They also saw dolphins and turtles. I think there was only one sailfish caught that particular day but not on their boat. Good Luck!
