Snorkeling in Martinique?

I have been trying to find info on snorkeling in Martinique. Is there snorkeling there? Can you do it from the beach, or do you have to go out in a boat. Of course, there's the possiblity that we should enjoy the beautiful beaches at Martinique and not snorkel. Does anyone know?
