marysb Posted February 16, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 16, 2009 How hard is it to get a taxi back to the ship from Brewer's bay? If we make arrangements to have the taxi who dropped us off come back, can we rely on them? or wolud it be better to go to Cane Garden Beach, where there are more taxis? -don't want to miss the ship :-)
Beachbum1944 Posted February 16, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 16, 2009 You should have no problem having a taxi come back for you.

I know our driver told us that if he got tied up, he would have someone else come for us, so I imagine they work together to some extent as well. In any event, he was right on time for our pickup. Pyrate13 Posted February 16, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 16, 2009 Arranging a return pick up with your driver is very common in the BVI. No worries, they'll come back for you. Some even want you to wait until the return trip to pay them.
nw17 Posted February 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2009 They will come back for you as you don't pay them until you are safely back at port.
honeymooners11 Posted March 20, 2009 #6 Share Posted March 20, 2009 Hi all, We are a family of 14 looking to go to Brewers Bay. We have 2 small children (2years old) and I am wondered about the safety for them for the ride to Brewers Bay? What type of taxi is it....is it the open air safari truck or an actual taxi cab? I know that there are many steep hills along the way...just concerned and want to put my mind at ease. Thanks in advance, KT

I can only speak for the one I used, but it was scrupulously clean and well maintained. Our driver (a fellow by the name of Shorty) was very conscientious and we felt perfectly safe with him. bluefintuna Posted March 20, 2009 #8 Share Posted March 20, 2009 In Tortola at the port is a middle age man with a stove pipe hat. He has a large air conditioned van and he took us both ways to Cane Garden Bay. Much better than the open safari trucks on the winding mountain roads.
