5th Anniv. In Aruba - suggestions on something romantic to do?

DH and I will be on Celebrity's Millenium over Christmas & New Year's this year. Our anniversary is New Year's Eve and we will be in Aruba from 8 a - 6 p that day. We've been there before (once) and done the bus tour, but I'd like to book something a little more romantic to surprise the hubby. Maybe some sort of food related tour (he was a chef for 20 years)... or water related activity - we both love boating/swimming. I'd love to hear from other CC members on what you'd do in my situation!

Thanks! :D

  • 2 weeks later...

I know you wrote this several days ago, but I just checked in on the Aruba boards today for the first time in a long time. Actually, my DH and I are celebrating our 5-yr anniversary this year, too, and are considering a week in Aruba over a 10-day cruise that stops here for a day...hmm...

Anyway, I was in Aruba in August 2007 on a cruise and definitely have a suggestion for you. Make an appointment at the Spa del Sol at the Manchebo Beach Resort (http://www.spadelsol.com/home.htm). It's on Eagle Beach, which I can truly say is THE most beautiful beach I've ever seen. It's so perfect and pristine...and the spa is GORGEOUS! Get a couples massage in one of their open-air, beachfront cabanas, and you will be in heaven. Their prices are reasonable compared to the cruise ship, and the whole experience is just great. The spa receptionist is super-nice, and she let us use their spa facility as our "home base" for the time we were there...we were able to leave all our things and just hang out on their beach and whatnot. If you want to see pictures, you can see some in my signature below for the Adventure of the Seas cruise.

(Actually, our experience there is the SOLE reason I want to come back with my husband for a romantic week in Aruba!) :) Have fun!

You could also consider a day on Renaissance Island at their Spa Cove.

Or, a day on the Morning Star http://www.morningstararuba.com/ A good friend has sailed with them and claims it is very romantic and worth EVERY penney. It's on my dream wish list. ;) :)
