We are taking the 8/11 cruise tour with Princess with the tour portion first. ANy great ideas on the best way to get to Fairbanks from New Yorkwith two teens in tow? we are trying to avoid that all day flight time to Fairbanks. Thinking about fying into Seattle the night before then one way to Fairbanks. At the end of the cruise either flying home from Vancouver or driving back to Seattle to be able to buy a round trip. Help...it's very confusing and can be very expensive with all these one way fares!

If you want to break up the flight, then consider the round trip Seattle and a couple days later one way to Fairbanks. Plenty to see and do in Seattle with a rental car.

However, BE WELL prepared for your kids to be the only ones on the cruisetour. Extremely few go on these and ages are older on average, overall. Have triple the games/snacks/batteries that you think you'll need. Your options for food is limited so I suggest you walk to Fred Meyer in Fairbanks, depending on where you are staying?? And stock up there.

Take a look at the Bank of America Alaska Airlines Visa. This card offers a $50 companion fare.(plus taxes) We flew into Anchorage and home from Vancouver into Newark.

This year we are using the same deal to fly to Hawaii.

Yes the card costs $75 a year, but I feel it was worth the plane ticket.

If you look on Alaska Air site they have this promo under the milege section.
