getting from orlando to miami port

I am spending a few days in orlando prior to going on a norwegian cruise on april 18th. Can anyone point out a reasnably priced way to get directly to the port of miami?

Typically, there are no one way charges on rental cars in FLorida and I think Enterprise has a location near the cruise port and will shuttle you over to the port when you drop off. If it is not them, some rental agency does.

We rented from Alamo at Disney. Dropped it off at their airport location in Miami and took their free shuttle to the pier. Sweet!

 

It's a little more challenging to get back to Alamo after the cruise if you're driving back to Orlando. Not too many shuttles. You might wait forever for one, only to blitzed by someone who just got there. Either practice patience or get a cab.

 

In Jan we paid about $75 from Disney to Miami and about $55 from Miami to Orlando airport.

I personally think renting a car is your best bet. However, Amtrak runs Orlando/Miami:

Plug in your date and see what happens. I know of no cruiise shuttle between the two. Heck, if you're curious, go to Grayhound (grEyhound??) .com and check them too.

Just got back yesterday, we flew into Tampa and rented a full size car with Alamo for $32.99/day for two days. We dropped it off at the Miami airport and took their free shuttle to the port. On Saturday (2/14/09) we walked off the NCL-Dawn at 10:00am and when we walked out of the building, there was a Alamo shuttle bus sitting there loading. The bus took us to the airport location and picked up an full size car ($37.99/day) and drove it to Tampa. Both rentals had no one way drop off charges. The pricing might be a little more because of spring break. Hope this help.

Prices R/T for connect2cruise looks to be $89.95 per person. Depending on how many of you there are, you may want to consider renting a car and driving.
