kadiebug12 Posted November 21, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 21, 2004 We are currently booked in a balcony room on the explorer and were wondering if anyone had pictures of this type of room?
over the edge Posted November 21, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 21, 2004 Where on the ship is the room located? Mid, aft, rear aft, room #?
MsDolly Posted November 21, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 21, 2004 I'd be interested in that too, I just booked an aft balcony room on Deck 9 on the explorer. From the floor plan it looks a bit larger then the rest but it also looks like it may be quite shady.
kadiebug12 Posted November 21, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted November 21, 2004 We're in 8624, deluxe ocean view mid ship. We'd be happy to see anything comperable, however. Our e mail is cepausm@bellsouth.net. Thanks!
jean-lynd Posted November 22, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 22, 2004 We were in 8558. I have quite a few pictures of the cabin at http://community.webshots.com/user/jean_lynd - in the 2 explorer albums. I hope this helps!

KamloopsCruisers Posted November 23, 2004 #8 Share Posted November 23, 2004 This site has literally hundreds and hundreds of pics of the Voyager class ships - everything from rooms to crew only areas. Buddy L Posted November 23, 2004 #9 Share Posted November 23, 2004 DONT BOOK DECK SIX!!!! Your outlook will not be glass, but a big steel wall, nice if you like blue sky or you have an unhealthy interest in rivets. :D
tprime76 Posted November 23, 2004 #10 Share Posted November 23, 2004 We just got back from cabin 8390 on Explorer of the Seas. Our web site has many pictures of our aft cabin (Crusing, Explorer of the Seas Pics). If you are interested in seeing a "normal" D1 class room, follow the links to Don And Sherry's page. They have some pictures of their room as well. http://www.tomandemily.com
mbe30 Posted November 23, 2004 #11 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Buddy L: What's wrong with deck six? I'm confused. I have a balcony booked on Deck 6 on the Navigator. Should I change it?
lephysteria Posted November 23, 2004 #12 Share Posted November 23, 2004 Hi, I had a balcony cabin on the ExOS as well. There are links in my signature. The album name you're looking for is Jen's Explorer Cruise. I'm not sure if there are balcony pics, but there are room pics. We were in a DB. Hope this helps! Buddy L Posted November 29, 2004 #13 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Buddy L:What's wrong with deck six? I'm confused. I have a balcony booked on Deck 6 on the Navigator. Should I change it? Dont quote me but, I think the balcony problem I spoke about is only on the Explorer...I think!! And it only applies to deck 6...once you are seated you are staring at a large lump of steel with a rail on top. All the other balcony's above had a glass aspect. We envisaged room service breakfast whilst we watched the ship dock in the likes of St Thomas and St Martin, but if you wanted to see anything you had to stand up, which wasn't quite the dream vision I had in mind. Anyway, Its an ongoing dispute with RCI, but I would recommend doing a touch more research before you board!
nascarfans_wny Posted November 29, 2004 #14 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Thanks for the info. Jean, you're pics helped a lot. I originally wanted to book a PR cabin (a bit cheaper, and we could "people watch" from our bay window), but we're going to go for a Balcony cabin instead. Kathy's parents and sister are definitely getting a Balcony cabin, so this will increase our chances of being nearby.
