Arriving in Rio de Janeiro 14 March to 16 March looking at some advice for some good tour operators to do the main tourist Corcovado Mountain, Christ Redeemer and Sugar Loaf Mountain Day Tour? Do you recommend any particular tour group?

You really don't need a tour guide to visit either of the big two. Cab it to Corcovado in Cosmo Velho (R$ 15 from Copacabana) early in the morning and take the cogwheel train to the top (R$ 44). Only ascend if it is a fairly clear day. If it is cloudy you will see nothing.

Cab from Cosmo Velho to Sugarloaf in Urca (R$15-18). Take sky car to top (R$ 45) and time it so you are there for sunset. If you want to stop for lunch en route to I recommend Arab on Av Atlantica , 2 blocks from Coapacabana Palace. You can dine al fresco across from the ocean on a wonderful, reasonably priced, Mediterranean cuisine buffet. At the base of Sugarloaf is Zozo restaurant - a good fixed price restaurant. It generally has live music in early evening in case you want stop for a drink before returning to the hotel.
