Hi there

 

 

travelling on Indy in Nov, West bound Transatalntic. I have never done this type of cruise before and I have a couple of questions:)

 

Can anyone tell me what the weather/Seas are usually like at that time of year?

 

It is a 'different' type of cruise to be on?

 

I have been on Indy a few times and really looking forward to this crossing

Well you need to join our roll call for the November Indy TA!

 

Our weather in 2007 November TA was 50 ish in England. 60 ish in Northern Spain mid 70s to 80 in Funchal and all the way across to Fort Lauderdale. Predicting the weather is never easy, but the crossing itself will be between 26 degrees north and around 32 north. Think central Florida.

We did a crossing on the VOYAGER of the SEAS just this past November.

We also did the Mediterrean. The Med. weather was terrible in November.

Worst that I had seen, however, when we got into the Atlantic Ocean,

the crossing weather was great all the way across...very smooth.

Even when we entered the Saragasso Sea, the weather was

almost the doldrums...water like a lake...sunny skies, no wind

and, temps in the 60's or so on deck. Very enjoyable.

Go to http://www.wunderground.com/MAR/mmm.html?map=wave&animate=1 just before you leave and click on buoy/water temps and it will give you a good idea what the air temperature will be like on your route since at sea this is greatly influenced by the sea temperature. I did this just before or Century TA in early Dec.09 and it was right on for the temperature we had when on the crossing.
