informing Oceania if staying overnight on a tour

We recently called Oceania to let them know that we are planning on staying overnight in Rome and catching up with the ship the next day. They said that we just needed to inform them of our plans once we were on the ship. So, you can probably save yourself a phone call now.

It is probably a good idea to inform Oceania in advance about your overnight stay in Egypt. Last year we did the same when we stayed off the ship for a few nights in Israel. Our travel agent informed the cruiseline in advance and we received a statement from Oceania stating that they were now aware that we would be off the ship on the dates submitted. Of course, once on board we reminded them again that we would be missing off the ship for a few days. If the ship is staying in the same port overnight it probably isn't as much of an issue. But in our case we disembarked in Crete and rejoined the ship in Haifa 4 days later...so they needed to know.
