kathy&bob Posted February 21, 2009 #1 Share Posted February 21, 2009 Wife happened to open an E Mail from SWA and checked RCCL to Alaska and hit a major find, basically less then $1000.00/ person including air with balcony. We're set for Serenade on 5/16 to 5/23, we booked SWA 5/14 and return to Fla 5/24. Need info on how to get to Vancouver and return, checked a couple sites today but they were hooked into Hotel stay, that included our cruise dates. We arrive in Seattle 5/14 at 5:50PM and depart 5/24 at 0700. Thinking 5/15 in Vancouver and 5/23 in Seattle. Looking for any info/ contacts for a decent deal. wrp96 Posted February 21, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 21, 2009 The best option would be to take the Amtrak Cascades train to and from Vancouver. From Seattle the only train leaves early in the morning (the rest of the day, it's bus transit). From Vancouver it's in the evening.

barbh Posted February 21, 2009 #5 Share Posted February 21, 2009 If you do a search of West Coast departure ports, there are a few threads about Quick Coach (quickcoach.com) Shuttle VS Amtrack bus etc. Amtrack runs trains once a day but they also have buses at other times. They leave from downtown Seattle .. not the easiest choice if you are wanting transportation from the airport. The closest train stop to the airport is Tukwila .. no station, not help, just a shelter. Doesn't sound like fun to me as you'd need to take a cab either to there or downtown. Seattle traffic can be a mess (rush hour is to be avoided at almost any cost). Quick Coach leaves right from the Seattle airport to various stops in Vancouver. You are too early in the season for shuttles right to the pier but could get off downtown and either stay the night or hop a cab to the terminal. Another option would be to rent a car and drive. It's about a 3 1/2 hour drive from the Seattle airport and ??? at the border (shouldn't be bad in April). It might be pricey by the time you figure in parking for a week. (I just checked enterprise ... yikes,it's pricey:) Sometimes (but not often) you can get a reasonably priced flight to Vancouver. It's worth at least looking into.
