Help with Kauai

We are looking to renting a car on Kauai and splitting the two days between the Waimea Canyon (with stops at Poipu Beach/Spouting Horn) and traveling the northside (lighthouse/Keke beach etc).

 

IF we were to attend the NCL luau on the first day (needing to return to the ship by 3) which days would you do what. The second day we must be back to the ship by 1:30.

Based on those time frames, I'd go North on the first day, and to the Canyon on the second. After the canyon, if you're running a bit late, you can easily skip Poipu. Start early though, either day.

Whichever day you have more time, go North. While both roads are easy to drive, north will have more traffic through Lihue and Kapaa, as well as more things to stop and see along the way.
