Finding shore excursions in Asia

Have friends on the Volendam leaving Singapore 4th April and am wondering if the shore excursions are the same as the recent trip we had to New Zealand. Here we found a number of tour operators on the dock and could have chosen a tour on the spot if we wanted. They don`t have their booking number yet so have no idea what the ship excursions cost as the dollar signs really dont give you much idea of the true cost. Don`t know why they do this as you would think it`s easy enough to change on the spot using the internet. I guess it`s that they don`t want the operators to know what their clients are being charged
