sorry I'm confused,if on my itinery it says we dock at 7am is that ship time or the ports time...what time do we have to be back on the ship...there time or ship time...I think I read somewhere the ship keeps the time of the port it starts from...is this right???

Thanks

It all depends. Evidently it's the Captain's choice, or so I've heard.

The ships I've been on lately have changed their time at least twice while on the cruise, and the newsletter left in the cabin each night informs us whether we're changing that night, and if so, in which direction.

RULE OF THUMB: set your watch to ship's time before you leave the ship, and leave plenty of wiggle room in your timing for getting back to the ship. You don't want to be that person running down the dock that everyone gathers on deck to watch. And you really don't want to be watching your ship sail away because you miscalculated.
