soccerref Posted February 27, 2009 #2 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Does anyone know if the ship would provide a packed lunch for those on excursions? Or is it up to us to find some lunch whilst out and about? I've not cruised with Thomsons (our first is in April - Red Sea Magic) but we have never been given the option of a packed lunch by any of our other cruise lines. Quite often a lunch is included in the price of an all day ship's tour (that should be stated on the tour info) or, if you are on a half day tour, you can eat on the ship when you return or before you go. Many countries have very strict regulations about not taking food from the ship onto shore.
smiffy1951 Posted February 27, 2009 #3 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Hi jonpum3 We have been on all the Thomson ships apart from the Celebration and have never been offered a packed lunch for excursions. However, I have seen lots of people taking fruit and rolls etc from the buffet to take out with them. Not sure if this is allowed but I've not seen anyone get on trouble for it:eek: Hope this helps a bit. Janet
capasamari Posted February 27, 2009 #4 Share Posted February 27, 2009 Wherever possible we like to have lunch ashore as we enjoy trying the local food and drink, it gives you a "taste" of the country in addition to the sightseeing.
