carriejones27 Posted March 1, 2009 #1 Share Posted March 1, 2009 We thought we were in for a real ride, or a high baby sitting bill when we could only get a late seating (8:15) for dinners. That is our 20 month old's normal bedtime. How "wonderful" when we chose to bring her portable DVD player along. I know all you purists and developmental Psychologists might cringe, but we fed her ahead of time and once the fussy stuff started at the table, it was her 101 Dalmatians DVD to the rescue! We got to enjoy our dinners and we were the envy of all toddler mothers with melt downs in the dinning room. Older kids won't need this the dinning is entertainment enough... and I'm sure we will take some heat for even suggesting it but it worked like a charm! Remember, two is not the age of reason... They run on snacks an raw emotion... They just want what they usually have, same food ,same stories ect. (and you :) She got something she knew from home and we ate "en pace".
