peteres Posted November 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2004 Would it be cheaper and quicker to take a cab from ship to airport or take the cruise line shuttle? What would the cost of a taxi be and what's the driving time? Any help concerning this matter would be appreciated--THANK YOU
elmorejj Posted November 24, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 24, 2004 It will cost about $12 and take about 10 minutes if you don`t get held up by traffic. Be aware there will probably be a lot of ships in port, and depending on what time you disembark, there could be a long line for cabs. I still think it`s cheaper and quicker to take a cab instead of waiting for the shuttle bus to fill up....jean
Esme Posted November 24, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 24, 2004 Jean right - we always take a cab, even if it means waiting in a long line. If you take the bus you have to wait until it is full before the driver leaves for the airport and he could make a number of stops before he gets to your airline. Also it's cheaper than HAL's transfers.
Himself Posted November 24, 2004 #4 Share Posted November 24, 2004 Cabs used to cost $10.00 from FLL to the Terminal at Port Everglades. I took one from the ship to FLL last week and it was up to $12.00. I recommend it. Himself
cgladin Posted November 24, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 24, 2004 I've never taken a taxi before and will be taking one in FL from airport to port. How much should you tip a taxi driver?
jemingway Posted November 24, 2004 #6 Share Posted November 24, 2004 A FLL taxi will give you an early taste of the islands.:D
Krazy Kruizers Posted November 24, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 24, 2004 If the fare is around $12, give the taxi driver at least $15 total. If going by taxi, have ready your cruise documents and passports (or photo ID) for the security check point before you actually enter the pier area.
