Azamara Quest video - Sept 2008 Best of Italy cruise

We went on a two week cruise around Italy starting from Rome. We visited Bari, Split, Venice, Ravenna, Taormina, Sorrento, Olbia (Sardinia), & Florence.

We had a great time, would recommend this itinerary to anyone. Sailing into Venice at dawn is awesome.

Sorry, tried to edit my post but ran beyond the deadline of 15 mins. Here's what I tried to add to the post:-

 

Note these videos were made in widescreen format to be played on a dvd. Somehow during the uploading and conversion for blip.tv only the Taormina video survived as wide screen, the others now appearing somewhat squashed.

 

The Taormina video was uploaded in the original mpg format & screen size so works fairly well at full screen, the others not being anywhere near such quality as they were uploaded as small file sizes.

There is the Basilica di San Marco and the Palazzo Ducale in the same area but are two different buildings.

Don't know what to say, but I really enjoyed your videos. We are going to some of these ports. Do you have anything of Split, Ravenna? We will be sailing June 1st on the Royal Princess. I was in Taormina years ago, and from your video I can't wait to return. Sorrento, Amalfi, OMG just wonderful!

Dear TQ,

We just went through your videos again and both started to cry at the beauty of them. We want to know what kind of video you used? Was it a video camera only or a regular digital with 30 secs here and there of video capability? We both have Sony digitals with capability but our videos never seem to come out clear enough. Let me know soon so that I can look around for a good video that isn't too pricey.

Hello bjrose,

I'm glad you liked the videos. They are constructed from photos the majority of which were taken on my own camera which is a Fujifilm Finepix F50fd 12 Mpx digicam. The movie sequences were also taken on this camera which I are 640 x 480 25fps.

I use a 4gb SDcard (and another in case I get carried away).

Some additional photos and videos were taken by our friends on the trip, I can't recall what make their camera is but I think it was 7 mpx.

I do own a JVC video camera but I never use it these days!

 

Yes, I do have movies for Split and Olbia/Ravenna/Livorno but since my friends appear in close up on these I will have to get their permission before I can upload them.
