estherhead Posted November 24, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 24, 2004 I just read that the Glory doesn't have pagers for the parents but ask you to call in every half hour. Is this true? Have any of you had to do this? I found the pager system on the Pride very convenient and gave me total freedom.
movtarget Posted November 27, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 27, 2004 I've only seen the reference in something I read somewhere on-line, but can't find anything official. Are pagers available on Glory (from indirect article reference, seems they are available on Conquest, so no technical reason for not having them)? palmtre2 Posted November 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2004 Our 9 yr old was in the camp on the Glory last spring and we never had to call in, you can rent radios but I didn't hear about pagers. If there is a problem ( our DD got sick ) they will page you over the ships PA. They did have to repeatedly page us since we were in the casino where it is very hard to hear the system. They kept trying until they got us.
estherhead Posted November 29, 2004 Author #4 Share Posted November 29, 2004 So are there pages over the ship's PA all the time? That sounds annoying to all th other passengers? I'm sorry to be grumpy but I've heard that Carnival makes announcements all the time on it's ships and I went on the Sensation and believed the rumours. Blah, blah, blah, always interupting my vacation. Then we went two years ago on the Pride because we needed Camp Carnival (had a 2 year old) and there were hardly any announcements at all. The Pride won me over to Carnival's side and I'm ready to go on the Glory. But on the Pride they had the parents wear a pager. If your kid got sick (mine did too) the pager went off and you called in on a house phone. It was easy and classy and I loved the entire program. Plus I loved the quietness of the ship. I'm going anyway, but did it seem like they were announcing all the time? Esther
palmtre2 Posted December 13, 2004 #5 Share Posted December 13, 2004 Unfortunately, I hardly noticed the pages - which was part of the reason why they had to repeat ours. In your cabin you can barely hear them and rarely did they intrude on our great time.
VJaycee Posted January 2, 2005 #6 Share Posted January 2, 2005 We sailed theCarnival Glory 11/27/04 and they gave us a pager for our 3 and 7 year old when we signed up for the Camp Carnival the first evening, it worked out great. The kids were having such a great time it only when off once when my 3 year was cranky later at night .
