Merida, Progreso and the Yucatan state are very safe. Tex/Mex boarder is an entirely different story.

Most likly as safe as living here in the USA :confused:

After 8 cruises and 20 days of land based stays, I can honestly say that I feel safer in Mexico than I do in some of the large cities in the USA, and I carry a gun in the states. If I was in a bordertown I would be extra cautious but farther south I wouldn't worry too much.
