Emergency contact number & name on reservation

I am a little confused. Are you speaking of the emergency contract requested by HAL or the reservation name.

The name on the reservation should be your legal name and match that on your passport. The embarkation form is for Homeland Security who researches your name and passport number. If there are discrepancies, it may cause problems.

The emergency contact only asks for first initial and sirname.

I think OP is asking if someone at home calls the ship's emergency phone number to contact someone on the ship, if the reservation is in the name of Richard A. Jones, but the person calling HAL asks for Alan Jones (pax uses his middle name) will he be able to connect with the pax. Could be wrong, but that is the way I read it.

My answer would be to give the people at home who might be calling you your full name in which the reservation is made and your cabin #.

Make sure they have your cabin number.

Then tell them to ask for the name on your reservation and to indicate you are also known as --------. In the event of a page, you will need to 'remember' that it could be you they are calling seeing as you are not accustomed to answering to the name written on your docs.

Are you sure about that?? Never heard a pax being paged for a phone call.

Has always been my understanding that if you are not in your cabin when the call comes in, a flashing red light will appear only if the caller left a message at the desk. Also my understanding, if the caller wants to leave a message at the desk, that counts as a phone call at the shipboard rates charged to the caller. In order for the caller to get a "freebie", has to dial your cabin number direct, and if no answer, no charge. But hey, I've been wrong before...

Happy Thanksgiving....
