mstea Posted November 25, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 25, 2004 We are planning a Graduation Cruise for my Daughter & Niece.. total kids ages 15-24.. what boat is better... Elation, dry docked 2003 or Glory. The price on Elation is better ;) Just wondered if one was better for teens than the other. Thanks.. The cruise is in June 18th or 19th... sea_u_onboard Posted November 25, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 25, 2004 Have you considered the Conquest? Same class as the Glory and MAY BE a little cheaper since it's a little older.
dsclark Posted November 25, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 25, 2004 I have done both, though I last did the Elation back in '99, so some of what I say might be off. The Elation had better dining service and the food was warmer. I noticed this on a recent cruise on the Ecstacy as well. I theorize that the design and size of the fantasy class ships is better for dining room quality. Although the Elation is smaller than the Glory, the pool slide always had a much smaller line (and the slide itself is smaller!) than the Glory. The Glory is more crowded, but it also has dining options that the Elation may lack. They both have pizza, but the Glory has fish and chips and the deli station might be appreciated by your kids. I'd be inclined to give the Glory the nod for these young'ins. I loved the Elation- she's a beautiful ship and one of the first CCL ships to not look like a rundown Las Vegas casino. The only bad thing I can say about her is the lack of balcony cabins. If it is cheaper for a window room, the Elation is a good bet. EIther ship will make them happy.
