mimismailbox Posted March 16, 2009 #26 Share Posted March 16, 2009 Follow the guidelines!! We took our 26 week pregnant daughter on a 7 night cruise 2 years ago thinking she was totally healthy and we DID have doctor's clearance note. The week after we returned our daughter developed preclampsia and in order to save her and the baby's life, the baby was taken by emergency c-section at week 27..... 2lbs. 0 oz., 13 inches long. Our little granddaughter spent 81 days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. She is a little miracle-- healthy & perfect-- the joy of our lives-- but we could not imagine what would have happened to them both if it happened while we were in a Mexican Riviera port or at sea. P.S. We celebrated this Thanksgiving with a family cruise and our little grandprincess' 1st cruise on the "big boat". She loved it!!!! There is simply nothing more divine than sharing the world thru a child's eyes!
GoodAsGold Posted March 16, 2009 #27 Share Posted March 16, 2009 As a nurse who worked for an OB-GYN, we sure never saw any patients who were 12 months pregnant, either. When a baby is 2 weeks overdue and the dates are correct, the doctor often starts doing non-stress tests. I'm surprised your mother still had an active placenta! Maybe her dates were off?? 24 months - YIKES!!! My mom was 12 months pregnant once - but 24!!! Poor woman!
