4 Day Bahama Cruise

Has anyone done the four day cruise to the Bahamas? It stops in Freeport, Nassau and the private island. I have never done such a short cruise and wondered if it is worth doing. There are some excellent prices for this cruise, particularly for the fall. Money is a little tight right now for me, as I know for others as well. I wondered if it was worth doing a short trip such as this one in the fall, or waiting until next winter and possibly (?) being able to take a longer cruise.

I've done one before. I'm about to do a little cruise with no ports and am curious to see how that's going to go.

I love the little 3 or 4 day cruises to the Bahamas. When I lived in Miami, my (then) husband and I hopped on one for about $100 each. The lines (or so it looked) tend to use their smaller and older boats on these trips and there is correspondingly less on the ship (fewer restaurants, fewer people, less entertainment). I still liked the vacation and the time away. And I think that private island is so relaxing!!

Thanks. I had forgotten about the reviews.

I always get a kick when you read reviews from folks on the same ship on the same dates. One will say it was the worst excuse for a vacation they ever saw. That everyone on the ship was surly, and the food wasn't fit to give the seagulls. The next review states every crewmate was wonderful and the food was delicious. And at night the faeries came and sprinkled everyone with pixie dust.

LOL Just be polite to me, and give me decent food. For the cost of the SKY excursion, I'm not going to expect QE2 service.

I'm wondering about this, as well. For the price, you almost just want to say "what the heck?! Let's just go!" lol

But seriously, I'm VERY tempted to try this same itinerary out this summer. My family of 3 can go for under $1000 in June. I mean, WHAT A DEAL!!!!

But I've never cruised NCL so I have no idea what to expect. Off to check out some reviews.....

We just took a 4 day cruise on the Sky March 2-6. For the money, it was a fantastic bargain. It was the beginning of Spring Break - that was the only drawback and even then they weren't that bad.

We didn't make it to the private island - bad weather. In fact, we had pretty nasty weather the whole cruise. We had just one port day (Nassau); the weather was cool and party sunny. I love the days we are cruising; I find them very relaxing.

We had a balcony and even if the weather wasn't the greatest for being outside, it was nice to have a window and a door we could open for a little fresh air.

We found the food to be fair (buffet) to excellent (LeBistro & Cagney's) with the main dining room somewhere in between.

The crew members were very polite; the ship is in good condition (maybe in need of new carpeting in a few places); the entertainment was good (especially the cruise director Matt Baker).

You will be happy with your cruise, guaranteed. :p

I guess I should have mentioned that - I really liked the smaller boat. Yes, there is less "stuff" on it but it's so nice to just get away for the weekend and be on the boat. There is entertainment. There is still an abundance of food. It's just smaller and a great idea for people that want a cheap and relaxing vacation, who don't have much time, or who haven't cruised before and want to check out what being on a cruiseship is like.

I'm taking my first 3 night cruise on the Sky in August. I've done 4/5/3 and 7 night cruises. The 4 nighters go quick, so I'm a little worried about the 3 nighter. Had to settle because of vacations conflicts. I just wanted to be on a cruise and the 3 night Bahamas fit the days off

I did this cruise in October. I thought it was worth it. but we were looking to relax...had been to Bahamas twice before..so we just shopped and lay around...at the private island we snorkled. We also spent a night in Miami. went home relaxed and ready to face the winter....Although I prefer longer cruises, I think the price is too good to pass up. OR do a B2B of 2 short cheap cruises.

What was the entertainment like at night? I was just on the Ruby Princess 7 nighter and the entertainment was fantastic. I don't expect a 4 day cruise to even come close to meausring up but are there things to do at night?

I liked 2 shows, didn't care for 2 shows. I think their singers need work, but the comedian was hilarious, and the juggler/comedians were funny also. But alot of this is personal. We didn't go to the White Hot party, we went to the casino some,,,enjoyed our balcony...newlywed game? or whatever its called was good. I think if you want to have a good time you will.

Decided to go ahead and book the cruise. Price came down even further! I can't believe I will be in an outside cabin for about $50 a night (including all taxes)!

Good for you, have fun! Funny, the cabins on our cruise started pretty low, and have now gone up. I guess you never know.
