Florida Turnpike

My family and I are driving to Florida for our upcoming cruise. I noticed, when looking at the directions, that we get off of I-95 and get on the Turnpike but then get back on I-95. What's the point of this? Is it faster? I thought you just stayed on I-95 the whole way. Thanks!!

Of course you can stay on I-95 the whole way. Some people do switch back & forth to avoid the more congested downtown areas of West Palm Beach & Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, etc.

Except for rush hour times of the day, you should have no problems with I-95.

We only use the turnpike if we are coming in from Orlando or heading down to the keys.

Rush hour is conjested on I-95 so avoid 7-10AM and 3-7PM.
