It takes only 35 minutes from Port Limon to Cahuita. A Taxi will not cost more then 50 $. But there are not always taxis in Cahuita so you better make an arrangement that your taxi wait for you. At the entrance you will give a little donation for the maintenance of the national Parks in Costa Rica. There are showers and lavatories. The trail is flat and in the shade. There are some pick nick areas. You will see easily monkeys, raccoons and iguanas. Sloths and snakes are sometimes harder to spot. It is also possible to take a snorkel tour. I am a certified guide and I often visit this area. The village Cahuita has a nice lay-back atmosphere, much nicer then Limon town.
