Transportation from peer Bayonne to central manhattan

I arrive back from Explorer cruise on 26th April 8am with husband. We are staying on in Manhatten for 3 days ( my 50th birthday) Please could anyone give me advice on the best way to get into Manhatton from the port. Are there plenty of taxis at the port ? What could i expect to pay ? Is there a shuttle bus that would go into manhattan ?

Taxi/car service will run about $75.00.

 

There really are no better options price wise. IF you can get back to EWR (about $40.00 for a cab), you can take the bus/NJ transit train/shuttle/PATH. But by the time you add bus/super shuttle/train fare to the cab fare, you have spent just about the same money. Plus about twice as much time and you had to drag your luggage around.

 

JMHO, arrange for a car service and don't look back.
