sgriff17 Posted November 28, 2004 #1 Share Posted November 28, 2004 Favorite Places To Shop and Things To Do...in San Juan, St Thomas, and St Maarten? I haven't been to St. Maarten or San Juan, so I'm interested to see what you all think!
pholter Posted November 29, 2004 #2 Share Posted November 29, 2004 San Juan- go to The Water Club (boutique hotel). They have a really cool, but expensive Latin/Japanese fusion restaurant and a super cool top of the roof/terrace club with a pool, beds, and great decor. St. Thomas- go to The MountainTop. Highest point on the island with oh so good, oh so strong Bananna Daiquiris and a beautiful view of Megan's Bay, etc. St. Martin- head straight for Orient Beach and go nekkid :) :) If you're more into shopping though, then head straight for town and you won't be disappointed with the thousands of shops to buy everything under the sun at. KandMGIn Posted November 29, 2004 #3 Share Posted November 29, 2004 For us it was the Parrot Club in San Jaun. Yum Yum Yum, great crab cakes! Great fried plantains! We also did a tour of El Moro (I think that was it), the fort. After eating dinner downtown, walking around in the center of dowtown by the fountain is nice. St. Thomas, we did do the skyride and it was nice. The daqaries are fantastic!! We did not like shopping in St. Thomas. We saw alot of limping bleeding dogs. Yikes! Mehgans Bay is very pretty and calm, but a little crowded. St. Marteen, one of our favorites! We did a mountain Bike Ride that was awesome. We went all through the country side and biked to Friars Bay Beach. Great beach for the locals. Cute little hut with beer and food. This is the French Side, so we did see toplessness, FYI. These are all really good ports! What ever you do you will have a lot of fun.

Cruising89143 Posted November 29, 2004 #5 Share Posted November 29, 2004 In St. Thomas I like to eat at the Green House which is located next door to the Hard Rock Cafe. A lot of the cruise staff eats at the Green House. Also the trip is not complete without a trip up to Paradise Point and a Bushwacker. St. Maarten it is Baywatch for lunch on Orient Beach. Andy and Cheryl are great hosts and the food is good.

hstrybuf Posted November 29, 2004 #7 Share Posted November 29, 2004 San Juan - We loved the Parrot Club! As far as things to do, you can do a walking tour of the Old City and see the forts, cathedral, shops and just soak in some history. St. Thomas - I like to shop downtown and at the pier. For tours we liked taking the ferry to St. John and snorkeling at Trunk Bay. St. Maarten - We've only done the Dutch side there, but there was a ton of shopping on the main street. We also enjoyed the Golden Eagle Catamaran.
