What have you done in Progreso besides going to Merida or the beach???

Our last cruise we stayed on the beach, and I do want to go back to the beach, but I want to see the town of Progreso. What else do you do? I know we will walk around the shopping area where the bus drops you and I also want to go to their market. Just curious what others have done.

You can go to the ruins.

Chichen Itza is quite a sight to see, but its an all day excursion. Definitely go with the excursion from your cruise line, our bus ran late and the ship was held for us.
