Any recent problems getting cabs from pier to SJ airport?

Recommended Posts

You won't have any problem at all. There are plenty of taxis available when you exit the terminal. When you claim your luggage, have a porter carry it for you and tell them you want a taxi. They will take you directly to the area and another person will write out the slip for you with the total price on it. Give it to the driver and you are on your way, quick and easy.

Happy cruising.

I agree with xpcdoojk taxis are not a problem to the airport, $17.50 per cab plus tip and the San Juan airport does get very crowded! I also recommend that a stay over to Monday. When we were in San Juan last month we stay the extra night and saved us half in reduced airfare. The extra night at the Wyndham cost us $88, not bad for a full service hotel five minutes from the pier.

Saving money on airfare by staying over until Monday is a good reason to stay over. For me though I like to get home the same day. After nesting in a cabin for a week and then checking into a hotel room for only one night with a weeks worth of dirty and wrinkled clothes dose not give me a relaxed feeling. I like having a nice relaxing lunch outside in OSJ then catching a 4:00 PM flight home. It is true the SJU airport is a complete zoo between 10 AM - 2 PM. I don't recommend this because of the tight time line but last April off the Serenade we made a 9:00 AM AA easily. Off the ship at 7:30 and at the gate by 8:00 because the airport was a ghost town that early. It was nice getting back to MN before dark.

We like to stay a night post-cruise. Glad we did because I won $600 in the Wyndham Condado casino (dollar slots). That is about the amount we had charged on our Seapass. Applied it to the credit card when I got home. Just luck, but a great end to our week.
